Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity (CMHC) held its annual Forget-Me-Not Walk around Southampton Common on Sunday 11th June.
This annual family-friendly event has become a popular way of raising money for the hospice, which provides ‘end of life’ support and care for people from across Southampton and South Central Hampshire.
Ruth Andrew, Fundraising Project Manager at the charity, said “It’s a wonderful event for our supporters to take part in and remember loved ones. We are truly grateful to everyone who took part and kindly donated”
Sisters Terri and Rachel Ballad, who took part in the walk for a second year in memory of their Granddad Tony Payton said “We wanted to take part in memory of our Granddad and to thank the amazing nurses who looked after him during his last days. He called them his ‘guardian angels’.”
The walk was well attended with over 160 people taking part and has so far raised over £6,000 for the charity. If you couldn’t take part in the walk but would still like to donate you can do so by either donating through our website or by texting CMHC45 £10 to 70070.
