Join us for an evening with Steve Foster, author of “The Soldier Who Came Back,” a poignant TRUE story of escape, bravery and courage in World War ll.
Steve, a volunteer for Countess Mountbatten Hospice, recently discovered some old wartime letters from his father Fred to his mother, in a suitcase in the loft. What followed was a journey that would highlight his father’s daring escape from a Polish Prisoner of War Camp, a dangerous 250 mile journey across Nazi Germany and the selfless act that would see Fred go home to freedom. The story also describes Steve’s attempt to find the grave of the brave soldier who sacrificed himself to help his dad.
Steve has kindly offered to give an illustrated presentation of the fascinating story behind his book to raise funds for Countess Mountbatten Hospice. The presentation will take place on Monday 11 November at 6:30 in the Hazel Centre at Countess Mountbatten Hospice. It will be formed of two parts, with a break in between for refreshments, followed by a Q&A session and an opportunity to buy signed copies of Steve’s amazing book.
We would love to see you there.
