Thanks to the fabulous John Lewis’ Token Scheme and our wonderful supporters the Charity has recently received a very special laptop, printer and iPad. These will all make such a difference to the ‘Over & Above’ support we can provide for the patients, their families and the staff of Countess Mountbatten House.
The laptop is already an integral part of the ‘Information Hub’ which has been set up in the Hazel Centre. This is a place where patients based in the community, diagnosed with life limiting illnesses, are able to obtain information they may not otherwise have access to. This information can then be printed off easily to be shared with family members and carers.
The versatility of the iPad will be utilised in many ways to support the patients, their families and the staff of Countess Mountbatten House. The iPad will be used to facilitate ‘long distance communications’ e.g. via Skype, bringing families together and enable the sharing of photographs or other precious memories.
Thank you to John Lewis for their generosity and everyone who voted for the Charity.
